MySpace & Oxfam America's Rock for Darfur Fundraiser
Since early 2003, ongoing violence in the Darfur region of western Sudan has forced two million people, one out of every three in Darfur, from their homes. Many have seen their villages burned and their family members killed, abducted, and sexually assaulted.

2,500 people die each week.

Those who have survived have fled for safety to crowded camps and towns where they now live in makeshift shelters, in constant fear of further violence. Another 200,000 people have crossed the border into Chad and are living in refugee camps. The conflict is also affecting those whose villages have remained intact despite the violence. More than 3 million people, half the region´s population, are now dependent on international aid.
