back next El Salvador I traveled with Oxfam America to El Salvador to follow up on an Oxfam funded disaster-preparedness program. During this trip we visited villages, shelters and organizations from the Ahuachapan to the Usulutan district interviewing and photographing organizers, survivors and residents of these mostly rural areas to fully understand the conditions, poverty, and lack of knowledge and organization, which are responsible for the devastation left behind by natural disasters.
